Death of a Police Officer --Yesterday morning, Peter McKeever, Sergeant of Police of the Second Division, died at his residence, in consequence of an injury received, about four months since, while taking a prisoner to the Station House, when both slipped on the pavement, the Sergeant falling under the prisoner. His wrist continued swelling shortly after, and it was found to have been severely injured. Inflamation ensued, and his arm increased to an enormous size. He was attended by Dr. Condie, who finallly called in two consulting physicians; but it seems they entertained the opinion that amputation was unnecessary. The patient improved and then relapsed, and finally the palm of his hand dropped out, leaving the bones entirely bare. Mortification ensued, the patient lingered, and death resulted at
11 o’clock yesterday morning.
