Rare sterling and hand engraved Hayward Deputy Marshal.
Hallmarked California 835 Bdway Oakland, CAL  Hayward was incorporated under special act of the Legislature in 1876 and then by general laws in 1892.  In 1913 the Marshal was Charles J. Schilling.

One of the few surviving original Fremont badges.  Hallmarded Ed Jones Oakland.

Makers 906 B’dy Oakland, CAL Nickel Silver.  Ed Jones was at this address from 1906-1923.  Albany was originally incorporated under the name Ocean View on September 22, 1908 but on October 30, 1909 by election the name was changed to Albany.  The Marshal was John Glavinovich who was also the first Chief of Police.
