San Francisco Police Stars No. 77 worn by Duncan Matheson.   On the left is the 1st issue Sergeant and on the right is the 2nd issue Sergeant.  San Francisco added the words S. F. to their badges about 1911.  Both are made of sterling silver and have applied gold numbers.  The lettering is hard fired blue enamel.

On the left is the 1st issue Sergeant San Francisco Police Star No. 77 worn by Duncan Matheson who was appointed a policeman November 30, 1900.    On the right is the 2nd issue Sergeant star No. 77 worn by Henry M. Shutzer who was appointed a policeman September 3, 1929.  San Francisco added the words S. F. to their badges about 1911.  Both are made of sterling silver and have applied gold numbers.  The lettering is hard fired blue enamel.

Humboldt County Fish and Game Warden shield, made of sterling silver with hard fired blue enamel lettering.  The enamel work is exceptional and the jeweler reinforced the back of the badge to insure the badge did not flex and pop out the enamel.
