
A Victorian JERSEY POLICE button. White metal. Closed back. Manufactured by "FIRMIN & SON, LONDON". Shanked. 2.5 cm diameter. Worn by the Police force of the British Channel Island of Jersey pre 1902.

'White House Police came under the supervision of the Secret Service in 1930 at the direction of President Herbert Hoover. In 1970 White House Police were renamed the EXECUTIVE PROTECTIVE SERVICE. In 1977, this division was renamed United States Secret Service Uniformed Division.

Gilt Button to an Officer of The Northern Rhodesian Police. 19mm in diameter. The scroll bears the motto 'Diversi Genere Fide Pares' which dates the button between 1919 and 1933. Maker to the reverse, 'Firm in London'.
