El Dorado Constable Fred Brenzel who took office in 1932 and covers the lower Lake Tahoe region. The California Penal Code calls for townships in unincorporated districts. Each township has an elected constable.


Placer County Constable Harry E. Johanson with Vorhes Newton, San Mateo County murderer, who the Constable arrested after he fled his crime. Johanson who is Constable of Township 11, Tahoe, was born in Sweden and is an expert skiier and has an Alaskan dog team with two Alaskan sleds he uses to patrol the High Sierra on snow shoes. He was appointed to the position by the Board of Supervisors to fill a vacancy and was later elected to the position numerous times.


Oceanside, San Diego County, CA Chief of Police Guy B. Woodward. Chief Woodward was born in Ramona, north of San Diego, on March 12, 1907. He entered law enforcement in 1934 when he joined the Oceanside Police Department. In the following years, and particularly during the war years, (WWII) he was engaged in every type of police work. He was promoted to Captain in 1939 and was made Chief in 1947 and in that same year attended the FBI academy. In May of 1948 the department consisted of the following: Harold B. Davis, Captain; Roger Gates, Sergeant (Investigations); Charles L. Giles, Tech., Sergeant (Radio); Chester Troan, Tech., Sergeant (Identification); Clark J. Larson, Desk Sergeant (in charge of jail); James M. Anderson, Sergeant (night shift); Hubert C. Russell, Sergeant (Traffic); Edmond E. Way, Patrolman (Parking); Harold F. O'Brien, Patrolman, Preston Thompson, Patrolman, Jack W. Hunton, Patrolman, Lowell B. Settle, Patrolman, Raymond McClelland, Patrolman, William G. Claydon, Traffic Officer, Allen H. Dreyer, Patrolman, Pauline Lail, Matron and Police Clerk, Mary B. Todd, Matron and Police Clerk, Tony Telebar, Patrolman.
