Vintage Imperial Co. CA deputy sheriff badge of  J. Walter Mills and photo of him wearing the badge. On reverse of photo is written Walter and his help and the bloodhound.  Badge is circa 1907 made by Los Angeles Rubber Stamp Co. Los Angeles, CA.  Historian Wes Burns thinks the photo could have been taken in the area of what is now Campo, CA.  Pictured below is Mills while working as a Venice, CA police officer wearing badge #3. Lassen County, CA deputy sheriff badge, circa 1940 worn by William C Hutcheson Jr. who retired as a police lieutenant from Eugene, OR Police Department where he was employed from 1954-80.  He also retired from the Secretary of States office in Olympia in 1998.
