Humboldt County Fish and Game Warden shield, made of sterling silver with hard fired blue enamel lettering. The enamel work is exceptional and the jeweler reinforced the back of the badge to insure the badge did not flex and pop out the enamel.
In 1895, the California Legislature enacted laws which allowed for the appointment of county fish and game wardens by the county boards of supervisors.
