T. M. Brown was Sheriff of Klamath County, CA when the County was dissolved by the California Legislature March 28, 1874.  The debt and territory of Klamath County was divided up between Humboldt and Siskiyou Counties.  T. M Brown then ran for Sheriff of Humboldt County and won.  HIs badge is jeweler made of sterling silver and hand engraved.
