- IPA INFORMATION -

IPA is a worldwide fraternal organization of police officers, active or retired. The association promotes global and cultural friendship among peace officers. Since this is an international organization, one of the major advantages relates to travel.

Joining the Largest Police Organization in the world with more than 270,000 officers in 58 countries, gives you and your family lasting friendships. (figure correct as of December 31,1995)

The IPA OnLine Directory is a roster of online IPA members. IPA members who are online may elect to be listed, and receive directory information.

The emphasis of the organization is friendship. There is an annual national, and an annual international convention. The conventions are hosted each year, by different national regions, different International sections. These annual events provide the opportunity to meet & become acquainted with peace officers from everywhere.

Members are encouraged to host visitors in their homes, and to act as tour guides to visitors. While not a requisite for membership, such interaction provides the greatest benefits of membership.

Professional police associations abound, this association uniquely adopts its up-front purpose as friendship, which is it's motto: Servo per Amikeco.

New members receive a lapel pin, as well as a blue linen passport, upon which to affix a passport type photo. Each year upon paying annual dues a current dues stamp is issued to affix to the blue linen passport. This small blue linen passport is recognized world wide as official membership identification. If kept inside ones U.S.A. passport, it usually earns a friendly smile when traveling, and sometimes more.
